Prior to founding AKI Events, Akilah was a social worker, public health advisor and educator. One of the main components all her previous professions, and academic studies share- ADVOCACY. That combined with her avid travel and lover of love- made the transition into a wedding planner a simple and exciting one!
Akilah is a NYC native, who is now bi-coastal between NY and the Bay Area, CA. She travels leisurely as often as her busy schedule permits, and continues her journey as a self-proclaimed ‘foodie’
